Greenify
"Can we create a social media platform to support the development of the habits and narratives that will make up a flourishing world?" was the driving question behind this NSF-sponsored project that was selected for Columbia University's Startup Incubator.
Greenify was built around imagining an alternative world. Users invited others to imagine "what if...", sometimes offering prizes or rewards for the best responses.
"What if..." missions elicited responses via "deeds", photographs documenting responses to the imaginative prompts. Users were invited to respond to these deeds by tagging them with one of a series of values that would be present in a sustainable world, like Generosity and Creativity.
Profiles in Greenify were meant to show each user the values they most embodied, giving them a way to reinforce their ideal selves. From this screen, they also had easy access to the communities they were a part of (where they might get new missions) and to their historical missions and deeds.
